A neighbour in Englewood wrote that she had been coming for over five years for lower back pain, off and on, and called him very good, personable and honest. The clinic's own site announced spinal decompression, and describes three other things in the therapy room. Dry hydrotherapy, which they call a heated pulsating waterbed that gives a deep tissue massage while you stay dry. Intersegmental traction, a table using heat, vibration and traction to get blood flow back into the discs and ligaments. Plus therapeutic ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation.

Auto Accident and Work Injuries

In the clinic's own words, Dr. Shank is Bureau of Workers' Compensation certified and accepts personal injury and auto accident cases. Their own banner named on the job injuries and auto accident injuries alongside family care. Being straight with you, these cases usually come with extra paperwork, and the clinic said so itself, warning that United Health, Workers' Comp and personal injury patients require additional forms.

Family, Pediatric and Prenatal

Family care was the first phrase on the clinic's own banner. His verified provider profile notes that he treats back pain during pregnancy and back pain in children and teens more often than most providers, and his practice notes describe the Activator instrument being used for newborns and infants. If you are pregnant, or you are asking on behalf of a child, ring (937) 558-1256 and ask what an appointment actually involves.

Here is the honest situation, and it is worth two minutes of your time. shankchiro.com was the clinic's real website for well over a decade. It is no longer theirs. The registry record shows the name was re-registered from scratch on 22 June 2026 by an unrelated party, and it now has no website at all, just mail servers pointing at a machine in Poland. So an old patient who remembers the web address, types it in and sends an email is not writing to the clinic. Meanwhile the Visit Website buttons on the big directories go to a rented listing page on somebody else's domain. The clinic's own site printed walk-ins welcome on every version of its home page going back to 2008, so you are not obliged to book weeks out. Calling first is still smarter, because the published schedules disagree with each other and a thirty second call tells you if the lights are on today.

Allow extra time the first day

Their own new patient page is specific about this. Please allow for extra time, average time is 75 minutes, on your first visit. That covers the case history, the consultation, the examination, x-rays if they are indicated, and therapy. After that they say future visits will normally take 20 to 25 minutes with minimal waiting.

Bring your paperwork if you can

The clinic used to publish its intake forms for download, a case history, a privacy practices notice, a terms of acceptance form, a release and a patient questionnaire. Their own advice was that completing them beforehand makes the first visit take less of your valuable time. Ask on the phone whether they can email or post them to you now that the old site is gone.

Bring your insurance card

In the clinic's own words, Bureau of Workers' Compensation certified and a provider for Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance companies. Shank Chiropractic Clinic opened its Englewood office in March 2005, which makes this the twenty first year on Taywood Road. Dr. Ryan A. Shank holds Ohio chiropractic licence 3036, graduated from Life University's chiropractic college, and carries postdoctoral training in spinal rehabilitation, whiplash, the Gonstead system and permanent soft tissue injuries. His wife Jen runs the office and books the appointments, which is why patients tend to name her too. Now the part that has nothing to do with the quality of the care. The clinic's real website is gone, and the domain is in a stranger's hands. Every directory profile is unclaimed, on YellowPages, on Superpages, on Healthgrades, on WebMD, on Nextdoor and on Wellness.com, so nobody at the clinic can correct any of them. One booking site that openly states it is not affiliated with the business publishes Wednesday as closed, while two separate 2025 posts from Englewood neighbours say Wednesday is the best day to get in. Two other sites still advertise a second office over in Eaton that no current record supports. Yelp has the clinic filed under physical therapy rather than chiropractors. There are two lifetime reviews on Healthgrades for a practice with patients of fifteen years standing, while three competitors in the same town show star ratings on the very same directory pages. None of that is a reflection of the work. It is a reflection of having nowhere to send people and nobody minding the listings. This page is somewhere to send people.

Being straight with you, the clinic's hours are published three different ways online and every one of those listings is unclaimed, which means nobody at the office can fix them. The two largest directories both say Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm, and that matches the schedule the clinic itself published for years, so that is what is printed above. A booking site that states on its own page that it is not affiliated with this business instead says mornings only and Wednesday closed, and two separate 2025 posts from Englewood neighbours contradict it, one saying Wednesday before 4pm is the best time she has found and another saying Wednesdays are the best day to schedule. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday used to be covered by a second doctor and no current source confirms them either way.
